How to report copyright infringement on Streamheaven, and how we respond to it.

Last updated October 25, 2026

Overview

Streamheaven respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects everyone who uses the service to do the same. This policy explains how copyright owners can report content they believe infringes their rights, and how we handle those reports under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512 (the “DMCA”).

If you believe material available through Streamheaven infringes your copyright, send us a notice as described below. We review every complete notice and act on it promptly.

Before you file. Please consider whether the use you are reporting could be permitted by law, for example as fair use. A notice is a legal statement, and it should only be sent when you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized.

Third-party content

Streamheaven does not own, upload or store any of the video files you can watch through the site. Playback is provided by third-party players and servers that are embedded in our pages. Those services are operated independently of us, and we do not control what they host.

What we do control is how titles are listed and linked on Streamheaven. When we receive a valid notice, we remove the listing, link or embed it identifies from our site. Removing it from Streamheaven does not delete the file from the third-party server, so for permanent removal we also recommend sending your notice to the service that hosts the file. Only that service can take it down at the source.

Filing a notice of infringement

To be effective under the DMCA, a notice must be in writing and include all of the following. We may be unable to act on a notice that is missing any of them.

  1. Signature. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
  2. The copyrighted work. A description of the work you claim has been infringed. If one notice covers several works, include a representative list.
  3. The infringing material. A description of the material you claim is infringing, with enough information for us to find it. Please include the full address (URL) of each page on Streamheaven where the embedded or linked material appears, and the host or source of the file if you know it.
  4. Your contact details. Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  5. Good faith statement. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the way complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. Accuracy and authority. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Please use this process only for copyright complaints. Questions about your account, playback or other support topics will not be answered at the address below.

What happens next

When we receive a complete notice, we will:

  1. Review it. We check that the notice meets the requirements above and, where needed, ask you for missing details.
  2. Act on it. We remove, or disable access to, the listing, link or embed identified as infringing.
  3. Notify the other side. Where an identifiable person or service is responsible for the material, we make a good faith attempt to contact them and give them a copy of your notice.
  4. Explain their options. We tell them how to submit a counter-notification if they believe the removal was a mistake.

Your notice may be shared. Because we may pass your notice, including your name and contact details, to the affected party, only include information you are comfortable sharing.

Counter-notification

If material was removed or disabled and you believe this was a mistake or a misidentification, or that you are authorized to use it, you may send a counter-notification to the address above. It must be in writing and include all of the following.

  1. Signature. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. The material. A description of the material that was removed or disabled, and where it appeared before it was removed.
  3. Good faith statement. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of a mistake or misidentification.
  4. Contact and consent. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which Streamheaven may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice or that person’s agent.

When we receive a valid counter-notification, we send a copy to the person who filed the original notice and tell them we may restore the material. We restore it no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receiving the counter-notification, unless that person tells us they have filed a court action to stop the alleged infringement.

Misrepresentation

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including court costs and attorneys’ fees. Please make sure a notice or counter-notification is accurate before you send it. If you are unsure whether material is infringing, consider speaking with a lawyer first.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances, Streamheaven will restrict or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We may also take other action we consider reasonable to prevent further infringement, including removing material without waiting for a notice when we become aware of clear infringement.

Policy changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised, and the updated version applies from that date.
